KAAO Stakeholder Consultation on the 2024 Draft Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARS)

On 24th April 2024, the Kenya Association of Air Operators (KAAO) proudly hosted a pivotal Stakeholder Consultation Meeting focused on the review and development of the 2024 Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARs).

The consultation brought together KAAO members, representing a wide cross-section of Kenya’s aviation operators, who actively participated in detailed discussions on the proposed updates to the Civil Aviation Act regulations. The event provided a crucial platform for our members to share their operational experiences, highlight practical challenges, and offer expert recommendations aimed at refining the regulatory framework for the aviation sector.

Throughout the session, members engaged constructively on a broad range of topics — from licensing and safety standards to oversight procedures and administrative reforms. Their collective insights underscored the importance of having regulations that are not only internationally compliant but also responsive to the unique needs of the Kenyan aviation industry.

This consultation reaffirmed KAAO’s role as the trusted voice and advocate for air operators in Kenya. By facilitating this engagement, KAAO continues to ensure that its members are actively involved in shaping policies that directly impact their operations and the broader aviation ecosystem.

The discussions highlighted the vital role that collaboration between industry and regulator plays in creating a safer, more efficient, and future-ready aviation sector. Stakeholders left the meeting with a renewed sense of commitment to working together for the continued growth and sustainability of Kenyan aviation.

At KAAO, we remain fully dedicated to empowering our members, driving advocacy, and building strong partnerships that lift the entire industry to new heights.

Together with our members, we are charting a bold course for the future of Kenyan aviation.
